Piedmont Electric Cooperative has awarded 12 PCS educators Bright Ideas Grants totaling $15,981.00. These grants will fund engaging classroom projects for students.
Representatives from Piedmont Electric Cooperative visited South Elementary School this morning to deliver news of winning to three educators. Other district awardees are Kelly Pearce (Southern Middle School), Lauren Pool and Katy Watson (Stories Creek Elementary School), Pamela Parham (PCS Virtual Academy), Kristen Clayton and Melisa Poindexter (Oak Lane Elementary School), Heather Clarke (North Elementary School), and Dory Newkirk adn Melissa White (Helena Elementary School).

Please help us welcome our awesome staff members to the Woodland Family. You may have noticed some of these staff members around, as three of them have served with us for a few months now. One of them is a familiar face, and will be re-joining the Laker Family this fall. Please help us express our gratitude for their presence.
Congrats to all the Class of 2023 graduates who have graduated in the past few weeks, especially those former Lakers. We have been lucky to have several seniors from PHS, PECIL, and RCS serve our students in several capacities this year.
Please help us congratulate Mrs. Hungate on thirty years of service to the field of education. She was an excellent teacher, and we will miss her presence at our school.
