The Person County Board of Education is seeking feedback regarding the 2024-2025 school calendar. PCS staff is presenting three options for the 2024-2025 calendar—one with an early start date and two with the traditional start date.
Please review all calendars (linked in the survey) and provide feedback through the survey linked below. The survey will close on Feb 4 at 11:59 p.m.

Good evening,
PCS will be on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 17 due to weather. As a result, this will impact our timing for assessments. PCSVA students will NOT be on campus on Wednesday, January 17. We will reschedule our assessments to be on campus on Wednesday, January 31.
Due to the possibility of patchy ice on the roads and extremely cold temperatures/wind chills for bus riders, PCS will operate on a 2-hour delay for staff and students tomorrow, 01/17. Breakfast will not be served and daycares will open at 8 am. Please be careful and stay safe.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr Day! No School on January 15th
Due to power outages and trees down in spots across the county, Person County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for students on Wednesday 01/10. This will allow time for power restoration, debris to be cleaned up, and buses to run during daylight hours. Please travel safe.

Due to the potential of severe weather conditions for tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 01/09), Person County Schools will be closing at 12:15 pm. PCC students should check Blackboard for assignments. Stay safe!
Thank you for a great start to our second semester! As a reminder, because we use various virtual platforms, some courses have differing start dates. Students in grades 9-12 should refer to our website and the newsletter (https://www.smore.com/txu4b) which has those dates and links to the academic calendars. To our students enrolled at PCC, your classes will begin on Monday, January 8. Please refer to your PCC email for registration details and/or reach out to Ms. Oakley if you have questions about enrollment. Students in grades 5-8 will be on campus for MOY iReady assessments on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 9am.

Happy New Year Fusion Families! We hope you have enjoyed a time of rest with your family and friends. PCSVA student classes will resume on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Please check your Google Classrooms for information from your teachers. High school students who are enrolled in classes on NCVPS, NCSSM, or PCC will have different start dates, so be sure to refer to your student dashboard and emails. Q2/S1 report cards will be sent on January 10. Students in grades 5-8 will be on campus on Wednesday, January 17 for iReady MOY assessments. We are working on finalizing schedules this week as we transition to the second semester and these will be available to view in PowerSchool.

Welcome to our final week of the semester! It's hard to believe how quickly it seems to have arrived. We have final exams this week for our high school students. Students and parents should check Google Classrooms for any schedule changes and expectations from teachers.

You'll find the Google Meet link in our newsletter and on our website. All are welcome to attend. A reminder that our spirit wear and Homestead gift card fundraiser ends this week. Please support PCSVA with your orders! All students (grades 9-12) who are enrolled in NCVPS courses are reminded that these courses finish early and will close on Friday, December 8. All missing assignments should be submitted!
