November is National Native American Heritage Month!
Piedmont Electric Cooperative has awarded 12 PCS educators Bright Ideas Grants totaling $15,981.00. These grants will fund engaging classroom projects for students.
Representatives from Piedmont Electric Cooperative visited South Elementary School this morning to deliver news of winning to three educators. Pictured are Hiedi Gustin, Elizabeth Sinnott, and Kristin Hernandez. Other district awardees are Kelly Pearce (Southern Middle School), Lauren Pool and Katy Watson (Stories Creek Elementary School), Pamela Parham (PCS Virtual Academy), Kristen Clayton and Melisa Poindexter (Oak Lane Elementary School), Heather Clarke (North Elementary School), and Dory Newkirk adn Melissa White (Helena Elementary School).
Congratulations to all of our Bright Ideas Grant Recipients and a huge thank you to Piedmont Electric Cooperative for your ongoing suport of the work we do for children in Person County Schools!

A reminder that Strawbridge Studios will be on campus Wednesday for fall pictures. No payment is needed in advance and all students will receive a proof of their picture. Students in grades 5-8 will be on campus for NC Check Ins and students in 10th grade will be on campus for the preACT. These students will be escorted by their teachers for their pictures. Students who are not on campus for assessments may come anytime between 9am-12pm. Pictures will be in the Media Center.
IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT arrive or drop your child off before 9am. Our arrival is delayed to not interfere with students attending PHS and it is important that we abide by these guidelines.

National School Bus Safety Week
A reminder that Q1 ends on October 19. All missing assignments will need to be submitted no later than Wednesday, Oct. 18. Check your PowerSchool app for grades and assignments. There will be no classes for PCSVA students on Friday, Oct. 20 for a teacher workday. Students enrolled on NCVPS and/or with PCC will need to refer to their course schedules.
October 16-20 is College Application Week and application fees will be waived. Be sure to refer to the college planning links in this week's newsletter! Contact Ms. Oakley about spring registration for courses at PCC.
