Yo, stop what you’re doin’ and listen,
Tomorrow’s got a brand-new mission —
Early release, baby! (🎶)
We’re leavin’ at 12:45, maybe!
Early release, baby! (🎶)
Time to go home — feelin’ lively!
School day’s short, we’re feelin’ alright,
Packin’ up early, heads held tight!
No long day, no need to stay,
We’re out the door and on our way!
Early release, baby! (🎶)
We’re leavin’ at 12:45, maybe!
Word from your teacher and principal. 😎
Also, don't forget we are having our Quarter 1 Dojo Party tomorrow! Students must have had 85% positive dojo points for quarter one, as well as no office referrals, in order to attend the party.
If you signed up to send in snacks, please send those in the first thing in the morning. As of this afternoon, we have not received enough donations to feed our hungry children, and we want to make this special for them!
Please remember Early Dismissal at 12:45 tomorrow. Please make sure you make arrangements for early car rider pick up or bus drop off. After-school care will be available for students who are registered. If there are any transportation changes, please contact the office before 12:00 so that we have time to communicate these changes to teachers and bus drivers.
Thanks for listening, and have a great evening!

Don’t miss this week’s edition — it’s full of important updates and community cheer!

It's National School Bus Safety Week! Safety doesn't begin or end with the bus ride. It's about safety at every stop!
Please remember these two important safety tips:
Stay Alert: Slow down in school zones and neighborhoods.
Stop for the Bus: Obey the stop-arm law every time.
Thank you for all that you do to help keep all PCS students safe from the time they leave home in the morning until they return in the afternoon!

Beginning Monday, Ms. Williams and Mrs. Ford's Bus Numbers will be changing, but their routes will remain the same!
Students who rode Bus 40 will now ride Bus 51 (still with Ms. Williams).
Students who rode Bus 51 will now ride Bus 40 (still with Ms. Ford).
We’re also excited to start Bus Dojo points! Students can earn a point each morning and afternoon for positive behavior. 🚍💙
If a student needs a warning, they’ll lose a point. Serious or unsafe behaviors—like not keeping hands to self, standing while the bus is moving, or using inappropriate language—will still result in bus suspensions.
Students who have 85% or higher positive Dojo points for Bus Behavior will receive a treat from the bus driver!
Thanks for helping us keep our buses safe and positive for everyone!

A big shoutout to our amazing PTO for planning and organizing this fun, free family event! Here are a few reminders before you come:

🚻 Restrooms: Located on the K–2 hallway.

Person County Schools has recently transitioned to a new student attendance notification system. If you receive a text message like the one pictured, please know that it is legitimate. The link will take you to a secure website where you can access the attendance letter that, in past years, was mailed home.
We recognize that the wording of the letter may come across as strong, but please know it is a required template that fulfills state attendance law. We certainly are not critical of you keeping your child at home in the case of illness or for other reasons that meet the approved excused absences.
As a parent of two Person County School students, I actually received one of these notifications myself today. The letter stated that my child was marked absent without a valid excuse, even though I submitted a doctor’s note. This shows us that, as with any new system, there will be some initial growing pains and kinks to work out.
If you believe there is an error with your child’s attendance record, please reach out to our data manager, Mrs. Salvitti at salvittir@person.k12.nc.us or our School Social Worker, Ms. Stovall at stovallt@person.k12.n.c.us. They will gladly work with you to make sure it is corrected. We ask for your patience and kindness as they help navigate this new process—these issues are not their fault, and they are here to support our families.
Please let us know if you have any questions!
