🌟 Oak Lane Elementary Parent Survey: Social-Emotional Learning & Attitude Toward School
Dear Oak Lane Families,
We invite you to take a few minutes to complete our Parent Survey about your child’s social-emotional learning (SEL) and overall attitude toward school. Your feedback is anonymous and will help us identify areas where we can grow as well as celebrate what’s working well!
At Oak Lane, we follow the PBIS framework, which stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. This is a school-wide approach that helps us teach and encourage positive behaviors so every student can learn and grow in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
Our PBIS motto (Show us your PAWS) reminds students to:
Practice Kindness
Act Safely
Work Responsibly
Show Respect
Your responses will help us ensure that these values shine through in everything we do—inside and outside the classroom.
🕒 The survey should take just a few minutes to complete.
📋 All responses are confidential.
💡 Your input matters! It helps us better understand how students feel about school, their relationships, and their sense of belonging at Oak Lane.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us make Oak Lane a place where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential! Please complete a new form for each student you have at Oak Lane.

Word from your teacher and principal. 😎
Also, don't forget we are having our Quarter 1 Dojo Party tomorrow! Students must have had 85% positive dojo points for quarter one, as well as no office referrals, in order to attend the party.
If you signed up to send in snacks, please send those in the first thing in the morning. As of this afternoon, we have not received enough donations to feed our hungry children, and we want to make this special for them!
Please remember Early Dismissal at 12:45 tomorrow. Please make sure you make arrangements for early car rider pick up or bus drop off. After-school care will be available for students who are registered. If there are any transportation changes, please contact the office before 12:00 so that we have time to communicate these changes to teachers and bus drivers.
Thanks for listening, and have a great evening!

Please remember these two important safety tips:
Stay Alert: Slow down in school zones and neighborhoods.
Stop for the Bus: Obey the stop-arm law every time.
Thank you for all that you do to help keep all PCS students safe from the time they leave home in the morning until they return in the afternoon!

Beginning Monday, Ms. Williams and Mrs. Ford's Bus Numbers will be changing, but their routes will remain the same!
Students who rode Bus 40 will now ride Bus 51 (still with Ms. Williams).
Students who rode Bus 51 will now ride Bus 40 (still with Ms. Ford).
We’re also excited to start Bus Dojo points! Students can earn a point each morning and afternoon for positive behavior. 🚍💙
If a student needs a warning, they’ll lose a point. Serious or unsafe behaviors—like not keeping hands to self, standing while the bus is moving, or using inappropriate language—will still result in bus suspensions.
Students who have 85% or higher positive Dojo points for Bus Behavior will receive a treat from the bus driver!
Thanks for helping us keep our buses safe and positive for everyone!

A big shoutout to our amazing PTO for planning and organizing this fun, free family event! Here are a few reminders before you come:
🍂 Parking: Available in the main parking lot and grass/dirt area by the playground. Cars may also park in the circle drive—just please don’t block anyone in, and do not go past the roped-off area of the playground.
🚪 Entrance: Use the front doors nearest the playground. The office entrance will be closed.
🚻 Restrooms: Located on the K–2 hallway.
🎂 Cake Walk: Bring small bills or use our new Venmo option!
☕ Food & Coffee Trucks: Bring your preferred payment method (cash/card) if you’d like to purchase food or drinks.
📚 Book Fair: Open during the festival—cash, check, or card accepted!
🎶 All the fun happens behind the school! Games, DJ, Fire Truck, Smoke House, Cake Walk, and more!
👻 Costumes are encouraged! Please leave weapon accessories at home.
👨👩👧👦 Students must be accompanied by an adult for the entire evening.
We can’t wait to celebrate this festive night with our Oak Lane families! 💛💙
