PCSVA Open House will be held at Person County Learning Academy (361 Virgilina Rd, Roxboro) on Tuesday, August 13 for middle school students (5:30p-6:30p) and high school students (6:30p-7:30p). Students will receive their schedules, pick up laptops, complete registration in Infinite Campus, and pay online fees. The advisor from PCC will also be available for those students enrolled in PCC courses.
PCSVA is a traditional school under Person County Schools so we follow the same procedures and policies as other schools in the district. At the PCS Board of Education Meeting on August 8, the Board approved a tentative start date of Tuesday, August 27th for the 2024-2025 school year. This date is for PCS traditional schools, including PCSVA, and DOES NOT include students who are enrolled in PCC Courses (start date 08/15).

At the PCS Board of Education Meeting this evening, the Board approved a tentative start date of Tuesday, August 27th for the 2024-2025 school year.
This date is for PCS traditional schools and does not include PECIL (start date 08/13) or students who are enrolled in PCC Courses (start date 08/15). Additionally, Directors at Earl Bradsher Preschool and Early Intervention & Family Services will let families know of their start dates.
PCSVA Open House scheduled for Wed. Aug. 7 has been postponed for all students. At this time, our facility remains inaccessible so we are unable to distribute laptops and materials. Parents will be notified of the new date and location as soon as we have an update. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Person High School is not accessible at this time. More detailed information will be forthcoming later this evening or early tomorrow morning as we receive direction from the district administration, but we still plan to host Open House for PCSVA on Wednesday evening. We will be at an alternate location to be determined and you will be able to receive your laptops at that time. Thank you for your patience and flexibility. Tomorrow is our last day for the 2023-2024 school year! We look forward to seeing many of you in the morning for our 5th-8th grade Award Ceremony at 9:00am. We will also celebrate our 5th and 8th grade students who are promoting to middle school and high school. If you have not already done so, laptops can be returned tomorrow, or Monday, June 3 or Tuesday, June 4 between 9am-3pm. Please remember to bring your charger! You can check them in with Mr. Graves, the Technology Specialist, whose office is just as you enter the main entrance of PHS. Please let him know your child's name and that you are a PCSVA student. Happy Last Week of School! Thank you for all of your support this year. We wish you a relaxing and safe summer! This week, PCS Virtual Academy continues to administer end-of-year assessments. These assessments include EOGs, EOCs, and CTE assessments.
Students in fifth through eighth grade will take the Reading EOG on Tuesday.
Students in fifth through eighth grade will take the Math EOG on Wednesday.
Students in Career Management will take the CTE assessment on Wednesday.
Students in English II will take the EOC on Friday.
Students in grades 9-12 may have teacher-made exams starting Monday.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10! Please take a moment to send a "Thank you!" email or have your child write a note of appreciation for all that our PCSVA teachers do! They work tirelessly to ensure that students are loved and encouraged each day. Teachers will be on campus on Wednesday if you'd like to share something special! Courses on NCVPS (grades 9-12) will end this Friday, May 10. All missing assignments should be submitted as soon as possible.

Q4 Progress Reports were uploaded to student folders on Friday, April 26. Please review these with your student to ensure the final weeks of the school year end strong. Courses on NCVPS (grades 9-12) will end on May 10. Please note this date as all assignments should be submitted.
If your child is interested in taking Driver Education during the summer, the registration information can be found in the newsletter and on our school website. Registration opens May 1 and is first come, first serve. There will only be one summer session.
