November is National Native American Heritage Month!

Piedmont Electric Cooperative has awarded 12 PCS educators Bright Ideas Grants totaling $15,981.00. These grants will fund engaging classroom projects for students. Representatives from Piedmont Electric Cooperative visited South Elementary School this morning to deliver news of winning to three educators. Pictured are Hiedi Gustin, Elizabeth Sinnott, and Kristin Hernandez. Other district awardees are Kelly Pearce (Southern Middle School), Lauren Pool and Katy Watson (Stories Creek Elementary School), Pamela Parham (PCS Virtual Academy), Kristen Clayton and Melisa Poindexter (Oak Lane Elementary School), Heather Clarke (North Elementary School), and Dory Newkirk adn Melissa White (Helena Elementary School). Congratulations to all of our Bright Ideas Grant Recipients and a huge thank you to Piedmont Electric Cooperative for your ongoing suport of the work we do for children in Person County Schools!

We have so enjoyed our face to face conferences with all parents as we finished up the first quarter of the school year! Please remember Mum Pick Up is tomorrow, Saturday, September 16 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM at Wade Farms, located across the road from 265 Noah Davis Rd, Roxboro. Families should plan to pick up the mums they sold and deliver to their family and friends! Thank you for supporting this fundraiser!

This Friday we will have a "Hat Day" fundraiser to raise money for Oak Lane's Relay for Life Team. Students may participate by making a donation of any amount at the PTO table as they come in the school doors on Friday Morning. The Person County Relay for Life event will be held at Huck Sansbury Park on Friday evening from 5:00 to 9:30.
