🍂🐾 A new quarter, more opportunities to grow at Oak Lane!

📬 Report cards come home this Friday! Please reach out to your child’s teacher with questions about grades, behavior, attendance, or ways to support learning at home.

🎃 Thank you to everyone who made our Fall Festival special by planning, decorating, donating treats, volunteering, or bringing your family to enjoy the fun!

⭐ We’re proud of our students who earned 85% or higher positive Dojo points in Quarter 1! They celebrated with Fall Fun Activities last week. Thank you to the parents who helped supervise the rotations!

💛 This week’s morning meetings focus on EMOTIONS! All feelings are okay. Encourage your child to be an Emotion Detective by noticing their feelings and kindly asking others how they feel.

Happy Friday Oak Lane families,

This message is for families of students who ride Bus 51, driven by Ms. Jada Williams.

Beginning Monday, October 19 and each day following, Bus 51 will arrive at morning bus stops approximately 10 minutes earlier. Please have your child ready for pickup 10 minutes before their usual time.

After reviewing the first-quarter schedule, we have found that students on Bus 51 are arriving much later than previous years, not leaving them much time for breakfast before the tardy bell. Starting the route earlier will allow students to start their school day feeling more calm and ready to learn.

Bus 51’s afternoon arrival times will remain the same.

Bus 71’s morning and afternoon schedules will also remain the same.

Thank you for your flexibility and support!

🧹💙 Happy Custodian Appreciation Day!

Today, we’re celebrating the hardworking custodians who help keep our schools clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for learning each day.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but the impact is seen and felt throughout every school. From preparing spaces for students and staff to stepping in wherever they’re needed, our custodial teams play an essential role in keeping our schools running smoothly.

To all of our PCS custodians: thank you for your dedication, care, and commitment to our students, staff, and school communities. We appreciate all that you do! 💙

🏫💙 October is National Principals Month!

Throughout this month, we’re proud to celebrate the dedicated principals who lead our schools across Person County Schools.

Being a principal means wearing countless hats — instructional leader, problem solver, encourager, advocate, listener, and so much more. Each day, our principals work alongside students, staff, families, and community members to build strong school communities where students can learn, grow, and succeed.

Their leadership shapes the culture of our schools, supports the work of our educators, and makes a difference in the lives of students each and every day.
🌟 This month, help us celebrate our PCS principals! A note, an email, a kind word, or a simple “thank you” is a great way to let your principal know their leadership is appreciated.

Happy National Principals Month to our outstanding PCS school leaders! 💙

Dear Oak Lane Families,

As September comes to a close, I’m proud of the ways our Cougar Cubs have shown their PAWS: practicing kindness, acting safely, working responsibly, and showing respect.

There are two dates to keep in mind this week. Person County Schools will host a school bond referendum information meeting on Monday, September 28, at 6:00 p.m. in the Southern Middle School Auditorium. All parents are encouraged to attend! Wednesday, September 30, is the last day to order an Oak Lane Fun Day shirt. You’ll find details about both in this week’s Paw Print.

Thank you to all who supported the PTO Mum Fundraiser! We can't wait to use those funds to support programs to enrich your child's learning experiences and memories at Oak Lane!

Thank you for helping your child arrive at school on time and ready to learn. As Attendance Awareness Month wraps up, let’s keep that momentum going—every day together matters. Thank you, too, for supporting our students, staff, and PTO. Your partnership makes Oak Lane a special place for our Cougars! 🐾
