Person County Schools is excited to host Rodney Poole from the NC Department of Public Safety’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission — a nationally recognized drug prevention educator with 14+ years of experience helping teens make healthy, informed choices.
Parents will walk away with real strategies for navigating:

✅ Underage drinking
✅ Substance use & prevention
✅ Talking with kids before problems begin
🍎 BONUS: Free cabinet locks provided by Insight Human Services to help families safely secure medications & alcohol!

It's National School Bus Safety Week! Safety doesn't begin or end with the bus ride. It's about safety at every stop!
Please remember these two important safety tips:
Stay Alert: Slow down in school zones and neighborhoods.
Stop for the Bus: Obey the stop-arm law every time.
Thank you for all that you do to help keep all PCS students safe from the time they leave home in the morning until they return in the afternoon!


Person County Schools is hosting a free parent session called “Parenting With Eyes Wide Open.” This event will feature Kevin Roughton, Special Agent in Charge with the NC SBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He’ll share how kids use the internet, hidden risks they face, and practical tools parents can use to keep them safe online.
The event will be held Tuesday, October 7th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Person High School Media Center, 1010 Ridge Road in Roxboro. Childcare will be provided, and all parents and guardians are welcome!
