Person County Schools is partnering with Piedmont Community College and UNC-Chapel Hill to "grow our own teachers." This partnership will support students interested in pursuing a teaching career in taking PCC courses that will later be eligible for transfer credit when admitted to a teacher licensure program at the UNC-Chapel Hill. Additionally, counselors and advisors from each collaborating institution will work together to serve as a resource for students, guiding them in applying to each step of the program, understanding prerequisites and admissions requirements, and selecting and registering for applicable courses. Job shadowing and internships will also be available to students.
