Due to a COVID-19 cluster including 2 staff members and 3 students,  Woodland Elementary School will transition from Plan A to remote learning for all students beginning Thursday, February 11th through Friday, February 19th.  This closing will help to ensure the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff.  Plan A face-to-face instruction will resume on Monday, February 22nd. This closure is based on guidance from the Person County Health Department and the CDC.

Out of an abundance of caution, there are some students who will need to quarantine as well.  Parents of these students have already been contacted by the school.  If you have not been contacted, your child does not have to quarantine during this closure.

While this is not an ideal situation, we feel the need to be proactive in our efforts to prevent any spread of COVID-19 from being passed along to our staff and students. We will continue to remain in close contact with the Person County Health Department and will provide updates as needed.

Students will be receiving virtual instruction from their current teacher.  Mr. Warren will be sending information to parents about the transition to all remote learning.

Thank you for your continued support of Person County Schools and for your ongoing efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19.  Please, wear your mask, stay 6 feet apart, and wash your hands frequently.
