Northern Middle School Closed for Face-to-Face Instruction Through Friday, December 4th, 2020 Due to COVID-19 Cluster Among Staff/Students

Due to a COVID-19 cluster including 2 staff members and 3 students, Northern Middle School will transition from Plan B to remote learning for all students beginning Monday, November 23, 2020  through Friday, December 4, 2020.  This closing will help to ensure the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff.  Plan B face-to-face instruction will resume on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Out of an abundance of caution, there are some students who will need to quarantine as well.  Parents of these students have already been contacted by the school.  If you have not been contacted, your child does not have to quarantine during this closure.

While this is not an ideal situation, we feel the need to be proactive in our efforts to prevent any spread of COVID-19 from being passed along to our staff and students. We will continue to remain in close contact with the Person County Health Department and will provide updates as needed.

Students will be receiving virtual instruction from their current teacher.  All Northern Middle School teachers will be sending information to parents on Monday about the transition to all remote learning for each individual class.

Thank you for your continued support of Person County Schools and for your ongoing efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19.  Please, wear your mask, stay 6 feet apart, and wash your hands frequently.
