PCS Welcomes Ron Anthony

Anthony Named Executive Director of Student Support Services of Person County Schools

Ron Anthony was tapped to be the Executive Director of Student Support Services on September 25, 2018, at a specially called board meeting.  Mr. Anthony is currently is the Director of Whole Child Learning in Johnston County Public Schools. He has 18 years of experience serving in many capacities as an educator.  Prior to his current director role, Mr. Anthony held positions as a middle school Social Studies teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in from Elizabeth City State University. Mr. Anthony also holds a Masters in Education and is currently enrolled in the Ed.D Educational Leadership K-12 Supervision Program at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  

Mr. Anthony shared, “It is with great excitement and anticipation that I join the Person County Schools system. My goal is to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to provide a quality education for each student. Our Student Services team is committed to excellence and we will lead and advocate to create an environment that promotes student achievement.  In addition, we will focus on providing schools the tools and resources needed to ensure success. I am married to my lovely wife Keisha and we have two beautiful daughters Kayla, and Madison. ”

Dr. Rodney Peterson, Superintendent, states, “Ron Anthony will be a great addition to the Person County Schools family. He stood out among the field of candidates for his passion and proven track record in making student-focused decisions that support academic success. The knowledge he brings to this position will be invaluable.”
