Third, fourth, and fifth graders are participating in a non-fiction Reading Challenge this year. Students can choose subjects to conquer by reading all of the books included in that subject. Subjects to be conquered include Biography Buddy, Sports Fanatic, Komic Kids, History Buff, Science Geek, Techno Nerd, Animal Expert, Space Explorer, Magnificient Mathematician, Occupational Investigator, Military Maniac, and Geography Guru. When students conquer a challenge, their accomplishment is announced to the entire school and on Facebook, they wear a special necklace for the day, and they receive an iron-on patch. Their photo with a list of their conquered challenges are on display in the 3-5 hallway. Stop by to see these amazing readers!
A huge thank you goes to Ms. Penny Taylor for heading up this reading program. She talks with each student about every book. She listens to the students' summaries and asks questions. Students really enjoy reporting to Ms. Taylor.
