PCS Before and After School Care
The Summer Care program operates approximately eight to ten weeks each summer for students in Grades K-5, currently enrolled in the Person County School System and must be at least 5 years old. (Students scheduled to begin kindergarten in the fall are not eligible to attend.) Summer care and after-school care purpose is to provide enrichment and recreational activities in a caring environment. Activities offered include arts/crafts, recreational games, nature/outdoor exploration, music, field trips and other special interest programs for children. Hours of operation are 6:15 am—6:00 pm M-F unless closed for a Holiday.
During extremely hot weather precautions are taken to keep children from developing heat-related physical problems and sunburn. Time outside may need to be curtailed during severe hot weather and scheduled for early morning hours or late in the afternoon. The time between 11:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. should be avoided when hot weather conditions exist.
